FINNCOAT-8500 is our top of the line spray formulation for protecting fin tube and coils from the effects of most severe corrosive environments. FINNCOAT-8500 is a tough. extremely durable air dry coating which has a good adhesion, good film building characteristics and excellent flexibility. All are self priming to steel. When thoroughly aged, they produce hard corrosion resistant films. The product is recommended as a heavy duty maintenance coating for exposures to splash, spillage and fumes. FINNCOAT-8500 is a primerlfinish combination specially formulated for salt water fumes services. FINNCOAT'S unique elongation and flexibility allow the coating to expand and contract at the same rate as the underlying metals, preventing cracking, chipping and flaking of the coating. Being a single component coating it can be easily repaired in the field, should it be damaged from abrasion. A unique feature of this coating is its low surface tension, this property prevents fouling material to deposit on the coils and fins and the deposits tend to slide off. This helps in the decrease of the heat transfer efficiency due to fouling and provides a complete Corrosion protection.

Thinning

• The amount of thinner required is dependent upon temperature, ventilation, humidity; spray equipment used and desired film thickness. The coating is supplied with the required thiimers and should not require any additional thinning, however additional thinner may be added upon verification if required for application.

Intended Usage

• HERESITE P-403L material is a highly chemical resistant baked phenolic coating designed for use in tank cars, railcars, and storage tanks where chemicals with a pH values less than 9 are likely to be encountered.

Application

• Do not apply if the temperature is less than 5oF(2 DegreeC) above the dew point.
• Adjust the air pressure to approximately 60-75 pounds pot pressure. Adjust spray gun by first opening liquidvalve and then adjust air valve to give approximately an 8-12 inch fan.
• Holding gun perpendicular to the surface at a distance of 12 inches, apply a mist bonding pass.
• Allowto flash off for several minutes, but not' long enough to allowftlm to completely dry.
• Apply 3 to 4 criss-cross multi passes maintaining a wet appearing ftlm.
• Repeat Step #5 until desired ftlm thickness is obtained.
• Allow60 minutes with ventilation prior to introducing heat.
• After the air dry period has elapsed, the temperature should be raised approximately 40 DegreeF (22 DegreeC) in increments of 30 minutes until the desired temperature is reached.
