This two component coating is typically sprayed on the exterior surfaces of heat exchangers and related equipment, process equipment, transport vessels, tanks and structural steel.

P-403L high bake phenolic has been the industry standard for decades for the storage and transport of chemicals in rail cars and ISO/storage tanks. It is the optimum choice for your applications where pH< 9 is likely to be encountered. P-403L offers excellent resistance to solvents, acids and salts, including 70-98% sulfuric acid at temperatures up to 120 Degree F.

Recommended Usage

• FinnCoat-8403 is our top of the line baked phenolic formulation for protecting fine tube and coils from the effects of most severe corrosive environments.
• FINNCOAT-8403 is a tough, extremely durable air dry coating which has a good adhesion, good film building characteristics and excellent flexibility.
• All are self priming to steel.
• When thoroughly aged.
• They produce hard corrosion resistant films.
• The product is recommended as a heavy duty maintenance coating for immersion exposures to splash, spillage and fumes.
• FINNCOAT-8403 is a primer/finish combination specially formulated for salt water fumes services. Successful applications include Fans. duct. fume hoods, marine finishes, swimming pools. steel plants, wastewater treatment plants, textile industry, chemical storage areas.

The coil will receive a uniform coating on all surfaces, including fin edges, with P-413, a thermoset, modified phenolic coating. Application of P-413 will be through multiple coats by immersion or flow coating to a film thickness of approximately 1.0 mil. P-413 provides corrosion protection in a 6,000 hour salt spray test in accordance with ASTM B-117 and humidity resistance of >2,000 hours per ASTM D2247. Chemical resistance is demonstrated via 100+ acetone double-rubs per ASTM 5402. P-413 also exhibits superior hardness of 5–6H per ASTM D3363, adhesion of 5B per ASTM B3359 and impact resistance of 160 in/lbs (ASTM D2794). Color shall be brown with gloss of 20–60 — 60 degree. If the coils are to be subjected to direct ultraviolet (UV) exposure, a spray-applied UV-resistant topcoat is an option.
